[Is it just me, or does the deviantART upload process get less reliable, more onerous, generally more unusable every time I interact with it? I can't count how many times dA bombed out with "Processing" forever while uploading this file. I miss Jark, 'cuz while there were bugs in his days, at least you could assume they'd eventually get fixed :( ]

This is Midori, a naga who lives in the same forest that Rika lives in. But where Rika is generally sweet, carefree, and innocent, Midori's a sultry seductress and she knows it. (Too bad none of the men will ever have a chance with her, but that doesn't stop them from trying.) Midori was the first person to befriend Rika after Rika was transformed, and Midori still watches over Rika like a big sister.

This was a relatively quick sketch prompted by my fiancée saying that now that I have Laura (another drider) in my gallery to keep Asari company, I really should have another naga to keep Rika company; and because I wanted to do a good naga pinup to make the naga fans happy. I sketched and drew this in about five hours. And yes, I know she needs better hands. I have to somehow get myself more able to draw hands one of these days.

I think I may finish this one off with proper shading, though; I don't know whether the other works-in-progress in my gallery will all get the same treatment.

And yes, I know "midori" means "green" in Japanese. "Midori green" is also a specific color of paint, despite its redundant name, and "Midori" is a common Japanese name too. So her name is "Midori," but don't ask me if her last name is actually "Green" or not, because I don't know (and she's not the type to admit to anything more than she has to).

It's not too bad. I gotta do a finished version with proper shading and stuff one of these days, though; it's a little plain as-is.

It is not just you. I tried to upload one of my pictures and it took me hours and I still didn't get it up!! :pissed:

Couple days later I tried again, and voila! Turns out I hadn't clicked the image more than twice or something.... :dohtwo:

anyways, you're not alone! :D

XD looks cool to be able to use your tail as a cushion. I love her hair :) Love the style! I look forward to the finished piece :) Work on the hands! It's better to try and not fully succeeding than to just leave them there. If you leave them, you'll never learn :)
Only crits I have is that her stomach looks a bit weird. Nothing big, but the line on her hip looks a bit out of place, and the top lineart looks too arched just under her breast. Other than that, the anathomy looks spot on.

Thanks for the comments, kitten!

Yeah, I know the hands need work. But hands take me absolutely forever to draw, and half the time they don't come out right even after tweaking them for ages. Sometimes I just wanna call a piece semi-done and post it, y'know? This should be in my scraps, and when I properly finish and color it, this old version will be moved there.

The stomach looks a bit weird to me, too. I did a fair part of her body without references, and I think I'm gonna have to find a picture of a woman lying down to see where those lines are supposed to be. The lines for her breasts and shoulders are actually right; I compared against a photo to make sure those came out okay. But the hips and stomach are a little weird, and need fixing.

I originally had the tail curling around in a sort of a figure-eight after it went under her back, and it looped back up and over her, its tip almost touching her right breast. My fiancée didn't like the figure-eight, though, so now her tail just loops around and around. I think it still looks decent enough, but it's not quite as dynamic a picture as the previous one was. Still, she looks comfortable, and that's what's important.

Glad you like it, though! And Songbird picked the hairstyle, so you can thank her for that too :)

I love the pose and the expression!
I dont know, i think there needs to be more shades of green? Her base green color is getting lost in the background.
I like how the font balances out the image, though.

There's quite a lot of work that still needs to be done on this. Hands, background, shading: She's nowhere near done, but she felt done enough to post, at least.
