I drew this tonight in a single sitting over LiveStream. I didn't really know what I was going to draw when I started, but people suggested centaurs, and then I drew her face looking up, and then Keeshaba suggested she was looking up because she was all googly-eyed over some guy, and it turned into this. The crowd wanted him to be a draft horse because he was so tall, so he is.

I think I'm getting better. I did this in four hours flat tonight. There was a time I'd have spent ten on it. I'm not convinced her bangs look good, but I really like how his head turned out, hair, face, and all.

As usual, ignore the hands. I still suck at drawing believable hands in any time period shorter than an epoch.

So there you have it. Some unanswered questions still:
  • Should they have clothes?
  • Should there be other characters or things in the background? It looks vaguely farmy-ranchy-rural.
  • What are their names? I have no idea.
  • And last, but certainly not least, who's swooning over whom?

If you have good answers to these and any other related perplexing questions, feel free to comment!

Xsweetara - I like Sandra! I think he's a Riley.
Jkrolak - I agree her top should be a checkered, button-down with collar that should be tied just under her bosom. (cleavage!) Lol
Keeshaba - Definitely need a cowboy hat for him!
AyameSeeker - I agree that she knocked over the fence (I know it's supposed to be like that because it's a "fence rail" but I love the idea). He DOES look at her very endearingly ("Silly, girl") and she does have a sort of giggly embarrassed look in her eyes.

P.I - Love you! This is going to be a good one! :)

I agree; she's now named Sandra officially. Still not sold on a name for him, though. Christopher's growing on me.

And he will have the cowboy hat, and she will have the tied checkered shirt (er, with cleavage).

And I'm now reminded of several of the many reasons I love my wife ;)

No clothes
Maybe more people

Clothing (if any) should be appropriate to the environment; perhaps only accessories are needed, perhaps nothing.
The fence style is definitely rural, wide open spaces, maybe nobody around for miles...

His forelegs look rather heavy. If they're unclothed, be sure to have the vegetation reflect a climate warm enough for that to work. You do not need more characters. Ranseur and Maralana. She's obviously the one with the moony eyes.

One thing I've always liked about your centaurs, PI, is the ears.

Not pointy, not 'horsey', not elven, they're NORMAL EARS!

They totally distract me from the hands. Ha-ha. :-)

A year later, this is still one of my favorite comments. Half-and-half for the win!

If you ask me. It looks like she intentionally knocked the fence down to get his attention. Jenny, loves the boy next door.. All through there growing up he treated her more like a little sister. He has that almost. " Now your just being silly" Endearing expression. Where it's " Yes, I still love you.. you clutz" heh.

Wow that looks good. I love you centaurs. I spend ages looking for good pictures of draft horse centaurs the other day and could fine none.

I could go either way with clothes. It looks more like a private thing to me, if their are other people there, they are very far way.

wOoo! It turned out pretty awesome!

1. I think he should have a cowboy hat in his hand. I think you might have had the initial lines there for it, but  As far as any other clothes, meh. I'd leave that up to you.
2. For the background, perhaps a ranch/farm set up. Barn, corn (?), tractor?
3. Daniel and Milly (the filly). ROFL I don't know. I personally wouldn't give them names until it's completed.
4. It's totally a mutual  over one another.

Hehehe... Bravo!

Hmmm..... good questions

1) Clothing: He's topless / working hard in the sun and getting that nice farmer tan. She could be wearing a checker top shirt tied into a revealing halter top. Optional staw sunhat.

2) Let's give the kids some privacy so nature can start to take her course.

3) Our girl looks like a Betty-jo or maybe Emma-jo, as for our boy, Luke or maybe a Zack (Zacheriah)

4) Mutual swoon fest, she had come over to admire the farmhand and discovered the boy next door has started to fill out as she accidentally knocked down some of the fence as she leaned up against it. Looking down to help her up and start repairs, he discovered the girl next door has suddenly gone from cute annoyance to pretty. Parents seem to notice these things and over the rest of the summer find escuses to steer them together.. just to see if they more than like each other..... and maybe come next summer making arangements to have that preacher man come by to make it official.

Ooh, very nice ^^ Like the concept here, and it's amazing how short of a time it took to draw it!

As for question-answers... I think she should have clothes, but he shouldn't, but that might just be me =P I think she'd look good in something short-sleeved and cropped. And yeah, I agree, it looks very ranch-y. And as for names, it'd take me forever to come up with anything decent, but by first impressions, the guy looks like a Christopher, and the girl like a Sandra. But again, that's just what first comes to mind.

At any rate, keep up the great work! I love seeing the interesting ideas you come up with, they're inspiring.
