People get very frustrated with me in political talks because I'm not a hardcore liberal and I'm not a hardcore conservative. I'm a centrist, a moderate, one of those most difficult voters to win over, not because I don't think about politics --- far from it! --- but because I am utterly distrustful of anyone --- anyone --- with an extreme view of the world. Bible-thumping abortion-clinic-bombing warmonger? Go take a few bottles of Prozac and leave me alone. Tree-hugging bleeding-heart vegan composter? Don't come back until you've learned how to use a fork and spoon.
So this stamp is for everybody left out by the political process, the people for whom a moderate stance is the result of careful thought and decision, not the indecision that the media wants to make it out to be.
(And for those who are curious, since I know you are, I'm a slightly-libertarian-leaning centrist; I'm slightly economically conservative and slightly socially liberal, but not a lot, and I have the test scores to prove it. I watch the evening news every day, read the newspaper regularly, and am one of the most informed people you'll meet, and I choose to dislike both George Bush and Al Gore. I think Al Franken and Rush Limbaugh are both nuts, and that the Sierra Club and Halliburton both have major problems. I respect a reasoned argument over an emotional argument every time, and, in short, I actually think with my brain.)
